Camp Whittier is located just north of Santa Barbara, and is nestled
in the beautiful oak forests of Los Padres National Forest.

What:
Since the publication of the
ACCT Practitioner Certification Standards, which define certification
for the challenge
course industry, insurance companies and others have been looking
at certification as part of a prudent risk
management plan.
At Camp Whittier, we feel that an opportunity should be given
to those who wish to stay in-front of the industry. To solve that
problem, we have decided to host a fully accredited ACCT Level
1 training and certification course with one of the most cutting-edge
companies around. Adventure
Experiences Inc.
Who should attend: Anyone
who is interested in becoming a ropes course facilitator, or experienced
facilitators that wish to continue with professional development
and to hold ACCT level one certification.

17th Annual
Don Whittier Memorial Golf Tournament
April
17, 2009
The 17th Annual
Don Whittier Memorial Golf Tournament will
be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Alisal River Course
in Solvang. Your support of this tournament will help us send
youngsters from all over Santa Barbara County to summer camp at
Camp Whittier. We would like to thank everyone for their help
& support.
Camp Whittier
serves all four Boys and Girls Clubs in Santa Barbara County as
well as numerous other youth organizations. With your help, deserving
boys and girls are treated to a positive outdoor experience of
hiking, archery, swimming, fishing, ropes course, and nature lore.
Your contribution helps thousands of needy children to develop
self-esteem and helps prevent juvenile delinquency and gang affiliation.

This tournament
is dedicated in honor of
our long time friend and camp committee member, Mr. Richard Schutte,
who recently passed away. Dick was a valuable & dedicated
member of our camp committee and he is dearly missed. Our condolences
go out to his lovely wife, Robin and family.
